Leading recruitment and training company Acorn has appointed a new innovation and development manager in a bid to further develop its modernisation technologies across the business.
With innovation at the forefront of Acorn’s expansion plans, Chris Bromfield aims to drive the Newport-based company forward alongside the agency’s recruitment, IT and marketing teams.
Chris said: “The recruitment sector like all industries is changing and it’s vital that a business like Acorn, which is a leader in its field, continues to be on top of all technological developments and trends. My aim is to continue developing modifications across Acorn, driving both performance and efficiency.”
As part of his new position, Chris will drive technology solutions across various platforms to enhance processes and develop customer (internal and external) experiences, whilst also identifying opportunities to improve other working practices and procedures.
Prior to his new role, Chris worked for the company as a digital assets officer and recently completed a rare Google Squared course: Squared Online. The course which operates under five different modules focuses primarily on digital marketing, covering a range of topics, including multi-channel planning and mobile changes.
Andrew Tugwell, Acorn’s group operations director, said: “I think Chris will make great contributions to Acorn as innovation and development manager. Having recently completed the Google Squared course he will be able to bring additional insight to his new role and continue developing greater results, pushing Acorn’s performance forward.”
With more than 20 years in the business, Acorn has its UK headquarters at the Celtic Springs Business Park in Newport and operates from 39 branches across Wales and the South West, North West and South East of England. Acorn also has international operation working in Europe, Australia the Middle East and the USA.
Acorn places up to 6,500 people into the workplace with around 1,200 different clients each week. The group also delivers training to more than 1,000 individuals and makes 1,700 permanent placements every year.
