Newport’s annual jobs fair is taking place in Newport Centre on Thursday, September 12, from 10am to 1pm.
Hundreds of jobs and training opportunities will be on offer at the event, which is being organised by Newport City Council and Jobcentre Plus.
Employers and organisations taking part this year include: Wilko; Adecco (recruiting on behalf of Amazon); Celtic Manor; ABUHB; HMRC; Newport Norse; Tesco; Q Care; Coleg Gwent; MOD; Vibe Recruitment; Pure Gym; Newport Transport; Avon; Prince’s Trust;
GAVO; Utility Warehouse; and Marriot Hotel.
In 2018, more than 2,700 people visited the jobs fair and, as in previous years, the feedback from those looking for jobs, businesses and training providers was extremely positive.
Councillor Gail Giles, Newport City Council’s cabinet member for education and skills, said: “The jobs fair is packed with work and training opportunities whether people are looking for their first job, a change of employment or want to gain new skills.
“It is a fantastic 'not to be missed' event which always attracts highly reputable local employers as well as keen and motivated jobseekers.”
