Newport Chamber of Trade recently raised £1,000 at a fundraising evening, held at the Rat Trap, in Usk The money was for the Mayor's Charity and the president of the chamber, Ken Ellis is pictured right resenting Newport's Mayor Councillor Alan Morris with a cheque.
Also in the picture are the Mayoress Jane Morris and the two proprietors of the Rat Trap, Andrew Jones and Wayne Mullins.
Both Andrew and Wayne played a significant part in making the evening such a success with the excellent accommodation, service and food and in achieving the amount of money raised.
The chamber is holding a quiz night at the Dodger, Clarence Place, Newport, on Wednesday April 16 at 7.30pm.
Ideally teams of six are required and the tickets are £6 per person which includes a buffet, supplied and donated by The Dodger.
