If you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?

I think I would have to say Richard Branson. It would be really great to ask him about his business plan.

What is your biggest fear?

I still hate heights – even though I like fairground rides because I feel secure.

Do you have any superstitions?

I put my left sock on first. But I’m not really sure whether it’s a habit or superstitious.

If you could listen to only one song for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Doing what I do with Newport City Radio and deejaying my list is of about ten songs. First one, Paul van Dyk, Fallen Angel. It’s a 90s dance track. It’s a lovely, lovely tune. Second one, Disclosure, by Latch. I love new music. And the third, Set the Fire to the Third Bar, by Snow Patrol. It is the only song that has ever made me emotional.

What is the most expensive thing you’ve bought, not including property?

My car. It’s a Vauxhall Astra. I was a bit upset that it was said to be the Reasonably Priced Car on Top Gear – but I’ve got the turbo version.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

That is a great one: Just do it. Be aware of the consequences and effect on people and the organisation, but be brave.

What is your indulgence?

Chocolate is a problem. I’m pretty cheap to run. But I’m obsessed with Newport City Radio.

What item could you not live without?

It’s really embarrassing but I would have to say my mobile phone. I had one that kept breaking all the time, and it’s one of those things you can’t live without.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’m pretty easy going. What I am aware of, though, is to be mindful of saying yes rather than no.

Where are you next going on holiday?

I was hoping to go to Australia, and will for my next holiday. And I try not to go back to the same place, but I would like to go back to Ibiza. There is so much more to that island than just the dancing.
