IN REPLY to Mr Simmonds’ letter (10.7.13). Readers will remember that back in 2011, the then Cllr Simmonds faced a two day public hearing on two accounts of disrespectful behaviour and bullying, which resulted in a two month suspension for breaching the member’s code of conduct.
I believe that those who serve the public, as paid employees or elected members must do so with the highest of standards.
As for the actions of two senior officers at Caerphilly, the police are rightly investigating and will in time report their findings, as Mr Simmonds knows from his own experience everyone is entitled to a fair hearing and no comments should be made while investigations are ongoing.
I would add that Caerphilly is and will continue to provide the services that we all depend on and is working hard to move the council forward.
