SO Torfaen Borough Council has asked for suggestions on reducing its budget by £40million.
I have been a long time supporter of TCBC and before that Cwmbran Urban District Council and I believe that we are extremely fortunate to live in this borough with all the great work that has been achieved in the past 50 years.
Nevertheless, like all councils Torfaen suffers from waste of resources, bad administration and lack of co-operation between departments.
In the business world we call it dis-economics of large scale enterprise and whereas a business has to be economically efficient public authorities just look after their own departments.
Many businessmen or good auditors could save TCBC or any council £40million quite easily without many job cuts because they would be taking an independent outside view and I am aware of some of the departments which are very wasteful. You know where to contact me TCBC and I will not charge a lot as, like I have stated, I support all the great work that our council has done.
