I TOTALLY empathise with the man who sent you the letter about foreigners phoning and pretending to be from a computer company. I get them at least twice a week and the Indian voice never convinces me. Good fun though to play along with them.
Here’s another one: dating sites. I have been researching these online for a book (honest). The classic is from a slightly porno site and within two hours of registering, I had about twelve responses from girls aged around twenty-five. Amazing! Scammers, of course. This one Brazilian ‘chick’ wanted to meet, but I had to have “safety clearance” which would cost £3.
What in Heaven’s name is that? A scam, of course, and the fact that I had quite a few other messages from girls in Horseferry Road, London was a dead giveaway.
I certainly don’t get luck like that with young ladies. So beware and never give them details which will cost you mega-cash.
