THE pathway to death is once more in the national news and how glad to hear that it has been scrapped. Is there such a thing as a pathway to death? Absolutely not! Nobody has the right to determine when or how we shall die.
The Liverpool Pathway policy which lays down a route to a person’s passing is barbaric. It is calculating and obscene in every possible aspect. Where are the days when the elderly played an integral part of their family until their time came and when, at the end, were cared for by the same?
This genre of lifestyle manipulation from genetic engineering to controlled death brings to mind a wholly odious episode of recent history, the lessons from which it appears have yet to be learned.
