AS A regular bus passenger, I have noticed that Newport bus drivers must drive in these very hot conditions while under orders to wear a neck-tie.
How safe are bus passengers, also feeling the heat, with a load of shopping and some with young children if the driver is roasting in his cab?
Local business leaders, directors, managers etc (Argus Business Update 16.7.13) have taken action to keep their office staff cool and comfortable.
Why not Newport Bus? The drivers need to concentrate 100 per cent, deal with obstacles, hoodlums and complaints etc, so obviously, in this scorching spell of weather, the bus drivers’ comfort is doubly essential.
Why are they forced to wear a tie?
