I THOUGHT I would drop you a line regarding a member of staff ( I didn’t take his name) at Newport Railway Station.
I was due to collect my daughter from the station late on Wednesday 17 July 2013. She telephoned me say her train was cancelled, but she would be on the next one. I set off to Newport to meet her in plenty of time, forgetting my little used mobile phone in the process.
What I thought was her train arrived, but she wasn’t on it, which was concerning at that time of night. A member of staff asked me what train I was waiting for so I explained the position.
Very helpfully, he opened up the information kiosk and established that her train terminated at Bristol and the three passengers were in a taxi bound for Newport, which was a great relief.
Twenty-five minutes later she arrived. Thank you, Newport Station and that member of staff, for your help.
