PROBABLY due to this balmy weather and long may it continue, I’m a bit cheesed off about Newport council banging on about its great regeneration plans and it all seems to be about the private sector’s cash and the motive is always, obviously, about profit!
I think it’s about time they put their, or should I say, our money where their mouth is and build a lido!
Who in their right mind would want to go to a sweaty indoor pool in the summertime? It would almost certainly be a great earner.
Everyone I know would use it and it would put us on the map just as much as football and rugby.
Please, Newport council, wake up. It could even save the lives of people cooling off in the rivers, reservoirs, etc.
Personally, I think the Glebelands would make a fantastic venue.
