I WOULD like to congratulate the committee behind the first ever ValleysFaCE in Ebbw Vale. The project is the brainchild of a group of people from the area who got together and decided to showcase what Blaenau Gwent businesses have to offer.
Last weekend, July 20-21, they put on a successful first event at Festival Park Shopping, with thousands of people turning out to enjoy the wide variety of stalls promoting artisan food, drink and craft producers.
But I see ValleysFaCE as much more than a day out; I see it as the beginning of a partnership in Blaenau Gwent. I see the project as the start of a network, where local entrepreneurs can come together and share ideas.
We don’t appreciate what’s on our doorstep when it comes to local businesses and the people behind them. But there is a wealth of experience, knowledge and creativity in this borough that needs to be exploited. This project has brought all those people together to promote not only their businesses, but the borough as a whole and that is a wonderful achievement.
The people who make up the ValleysFaCE committee should be truly proud.
