MR OSBORNE would have us believe that the economy is on the mend, making it the longest and slowest recovery in history, however a quick look at the facts tells a different story.
His deficit reduction plan has failed, with an estimated £90bn still being owed by the time of the next election. The Institute of Fiscal Studies tell us that wages are not keeping up with inflation (2.9%), resulting in a squeeze on living standards of 3% a year. GDP is 3.3% below its peak, and GDP per head is 6% below where it was at the start of 2008.
Mr Osborne and his cabal of multi millionaires may be feeling upbeat, however the rest of us continue to see our living standards fall. Mr Osborne is plainly out of touch with ordinary working people.
