MAY I, through your letters page, take the opportunity in thanking all who participated in what has now become an annual classic bus event, which took place in Ebbw Vale, on July 20, organised by Ebbw Vale Business Forum.
May I thank the owners of those fantastic buses for the trip down Memory Lane; the driver and conductor of the open top double decker who delighted bus enthusiasts with very enjoyable tour, past the new college, school and sports centre at the “Works” site. Also T.A. Waldron Commercials, St John’s Ambulance, Clive Meredith (Photographer) and not forgetting Ebbw Vale Male Voice Choir who entertained for over an hour. Karin Lamb (town manager) for her assistance in organising the event.
But most of all the people of Blaenau Gwent and the visitors who came from as far away as Neath and Cardiff. May I also thank all the under 12s who participated in our Find The Bus competition.
The five winners were Chelsea Callaghan, Abby Wyatt, Jasmine Gully, Isaac Windross and Cory Bishop, who each received a prize of £20 – kindly donated by Cllr Clive Meredith.
I look forward to meeting them all again next year on July19.
Phil Edwards, chairman, Ebbw Vale Business Forum
