SOME people have called me a Tory because I disagree with the Labour council group for giving a living wage to the lowest paid employees within Caerphilly council. In these frugal times council tax payers like myself demand value for money.
I want the councillors to use my hard earned money to help the poor, sick and infirm. To give our children a better start in life with good education and training. The living wage should have been introduced when Labour was in government. If these people call me a Tory, why don’t they call the Labour leaders in London or the leaders of Labour controlled councils, who agree with me over the living wage.
So when we hear of any future cuts to public services in Caerphilly council. I will always be there reminding those campaigners, that the cost of the living wage would have kept that service going. If the people agree with the council, then Labour councillors will get re-elected.
