QUITE a few years ago I visited the then Cardiff Maritime Museum at the bottom of Bute Street. It had a fantastic display of maritime history, then alas, it shut down.
A few years later I visited Swansea Maritime Museum in the marina. It was not a patch on Cardiff Maritime Museum; I asked the attendant where all the exhibits from Cardiff Museum were and he said it was stored in a warehouse ready to go on display when they enlarge Swansea Museum.
I visited Swansea again when they enlarged the museum, but there was only a little bit of maritime history on display, when I asked the attendant he told me it was now an Industrial Museum.
Come on Newport all that maritime history is rotting away in a Swansea warehouse; display it with the Newport Ship.
