I AGREE with everything Lidia Hallett wrote (Argus letters August 1) especially in her last last sentence where she said that we should stop seeing the negative and start praising one of the best healthcare systems in the world.

A few weeks ago my husband was taken ill and I called an ambulance. A crew attended within 10 minutes, diagnosed the problem and gave the appropriate treatment - possibly saving his life.
I would like to thank everyone from the operator, the nurse who assessed the situation and especially the paramedic crew number 1059. They were so reassuring and kept myself and family calm with their skill and their good humour.
Afterwards we were taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital and again all the staff, especially the doctor who attended to him, were all superb. So when it really matters I think the NHS is working well and in safe hands - especially here in Newport.
