THE media have disclosed the bedroom tax is just a big lie and that 96 per cent of the people hit by this stealth tax on the poor will have no alternative but to pay it or move into the private rental sector, which will increase the benefits bill even more. There simply isn’t the housing stock available to move them.
What with zero hours contracts, cuts in benefits, stealth taxes to subsidise tax reductions for the rich, this inept coalition is simply trying to turn the clock back to the era of the workhouses.
Already we are seeing the opening of more and more food banks an increase in moneylenders exploiting people. It’s all very well reducing benefits to make people go to work, but there is no work available when we have firms importing workers from abroad to do the few jobs available.
What are they doing to our country?
