IT IS apparent to the many users of a very pleasant section of the Mon & Brecon canal, the upper section, Crumlin arm, that the time has arrived whereby ownership and custodianship should pass without delay from Caerphilly county borough council to the newly-formed Canals & River Trust.
The advantage being the Trust would secure the canal’s future and be aware of its long-term economic benefits which appears not of prime concern to this authority. The Trust would reverse the decline due to indifference and would favour the canal irrespective of its geographical location.
