MR BANFIELD is justified in rejecting a God who burns people eternally. But that is not Christian teaching. I pointed out in a previous letter that figurative language is being taken literally.
Death is a cessation of life (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6, Romans 6:23). Jesus Christ “abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10).
Regarding his (supposed) appeal to science, when I pointed that Prof Stephen Palmer had lectured on the Bible being paramount in scientific and medical knowledge in the ancient world, did Mr Banfield consider following this up?
No, he went straight back to ‘science’ without even looking at what a scientist had said.
Over the years, I have provided copious evidence of scientific disquiet on Darwinism, including outright rejection. But Terry Banfield only sees what he wants to.
