Save our cash ANOTHER week and another story of savings to be made in local council and the public sector while just 12 miles away vast and outrageous sums of taxpayers’ money seem to be being wasted on an industrial scale.
When the WAG was formed it was mooted than it would cost no more than the Welsh Office, which at the time cost £50 million per annum; the WAG is now costing nearly half a billion a year to run and rising sharply, statistically speaking we were better off under the Welsh Office.
Taxpayers are paying £1 million per annum to fly two empty planes from Anglesey to Cardiff a day, £50 million for an airport that is running at a loss of £1 million per annum, I was also shocked to learn that the Welsh language commissionaire was earning £100k per annum and several deputies similar figures. Is Carwyn Jones really saying that carers for the elderly (a very important job) earning little above the minimum wage should receive their P45s while funding numerous six-figure salaries for non-jobs translating documents into Welsh, a language that I have never heard spoken in Newport?
Please, Carwyn, stop wasting our money!
