WITH reference to Chris Bradley (Argus, September 3) and his list of government extravagances, I would further add, monies lost to Icelandic banks, grants to multi-nationals like LG and the millions salted away for the Usk barrage scheme.
Why do those letter-writers harp on about Westminster austerity measures and ignore the wasteful spending of their own local authorities? Is it because they are Labour voters and/or anti-capitalists? As for Simon Gibson and his taskforce; He talks about the ‘will of the people’ (Argus, August 22). But unless ‘the people’ vote for politicians of a different hue there is little chance of anything changing.
