ON A recent TV programme it was reported by a headmistress and a lady from a children’s charity that there are a half million primary school children underfed due to this Government’s policies. It was stated that teachers are taking food in to school for some of the children. One mother of three children had one apple, one banana and one orange to go between three children.
It is a disgrace that children have to starve when MPs get £400 a month food allowance, utilities bill paid, plus second homes and other expenses; also, we pay the Lords £300 per day for attendance, and so on. Food banks all over the country, a “war chest” for any war that the Government want to interest themselves in.
It is high time that these highly over-paid MPs and Lords were stripped of all expenses and paid for their own upkeep, the same as the rest of us have to do. We are one of the richest countries in the world, yet we have at least half a million children suffering from malnutrition.
