SAW the article on the Round Table – a pity they are packing up I thought. I’d like to thank the group for helping fund three vans of goods Barry Coopen and I took to Sisak in the former Yugoslavia in 1995. We took aid to refugee camps, schools and hospitals on the frontline of the conflict. We were short of £400 to finance it as people had given us so much good quality aid and medicines we needed to hire a third van, despite only having funds for two. The “tablers” came through with the cash for us. I will always be grateful for their generosity.
