I THINK it is wrong that a piece of regulation put in place 20 years ago is still around. Due to the fact I want to go back into full-time education I am now at risk of losing my home because I will lose housing benefits. I think it is unfair people like myself with no qualification can’t go back into education to better themselves and increase their chances of getting a job for the fear of losing their homes because they will have no help with their rent. A person aged 22 like myself will get £2,400 on job seekers allowance per year, whereas a college student eligible for the full grant amount given by ALG will only get £1,500. To better ourselves we lose £900 per year but we also get our rent taken away from us, I am now at risk of losing my home and do not think it is right to punish those who want to better ourselves.
