Join Socialists LABOUR leader Ed Miliband pledges to increase the minimum wage to help with the cost of living. Funny there is a gap between the current minimum wage and the living wage, so why didn’t he pledge to introduce a living wage and do away with the tax credit system? He and the Labour Party know that if they were to introduce the living wage, that would result in a massive public spending increase followed by more borrowing and possible job losses within the public sector.
Ed would look at tax avoidance schemes to raise the extra revenue, schemes like the Deed of Variation. The very same scheme that Gordon Brown was against and did nothing about it. Accountants say this scheme always reduces the inheritance tax bill. That is why Ed Miliband used the same scheme to save him and David 40% when their mother died.
I do admire Labour councillors who stood by their principles and resigned from the Labour Party, when the Labour Party moved closer to the right and resembled the Tory Party of the Eighties. Unlike some councillors who stayed on to accept their councillor payment. Cllr Davies, you should join a Welsh socialist party like Plaid Cymru, as your voice is somewhat mute within the Labour Party. I would have thought after your loyal service you would have been a member of the cabinet or inner circle of politics.
