AFTER being repeatedly told by the bank that I hadn’t paid payment protection insurance (P.P.I) on a loan, imagine how angry I was to find my original loan agreement.
On it clearly stated was a substantial amount of P.P.I. With this document in my pocket, together with a witness I again visited my local branch, once again I was denied, on producing said document an embarrassed bank employee showed me her computer screen and the lack of information on it.
I explained to her that it was only a machine and only as good as the information programmed into it. It transpired that I had paid P.P.I on all my loans from the bank.
My advice to anyone who’s been refused by the bank is to confirm with the many companies advertised on TV. If they do find that you paid P.P.I then claim the fee you had to pay them from the bank.
As for the bank taking this extra amount out of your account every month, and maybe causing your account to enter an overdraft situation, then having the audacity to charge you for the privilege, then that’s a whole different “can of worms”.
