I UNDERSTAND why the bus station had to be split up for the redevelopment plan for Newport, but to walk from the original bus station through town to the next bus stop at night is very intimidating.
One Saturday night, there were very drunk people around, shouting out the worst swear words I have ever heard, leaflets being given out by others, and police in high-vis stab jackets.
On a Sunday night, it was the opposite: town was a desolate place.
Both times, it was very intimidating. It is such a shame for a city. People who have to use these buses have no choice but to do this intimidating walk.
