I UNDERSTAND of course that it was never going to be easy going about one’s business while a vast amount of construction work is taking place in Newport city centre, but would it be too much to ask of the council that they give sufficient notice of exactly what is happening and when?
I wished to visit the library today and was surprised that the steps up to John Frost Square were blocked by barricades. This necessitated me retracing my steps and an extra 15 minutes walk.
Similar things happened in the last week or two with various bus stops being switched around and more metal barriers erected, seemingly on a whim.
The council are swift enough to clutter my letterbox with suggestions of recycling and other harebrained schemes. What about some notice of these changes so we can plan our journeys accordingly beforehand?
