I ATTEND quite a few of the County home games and away when work allows me to. I was at the Cheltenham game on November 23, County had a solid following. What struck me and touched me as a humble chap myself was a couple of the players (injured, suspended) came into the County end and mingled with the genuine fans. Handshakes and having photographs taken, they weren’t pestered. So much joy for the young fans, what a great example to set, as football players don’t get the best of press (overpaid, self-delusion). So a big thank you to our Captain David Ronald Pipe, Byron Anthony, it’s nice to give something back to the fans. My estimations of the players have gone up. It was great for public relations; it’s not just about the football, they showed a bit of class –up the Port.
