ELIZABETH Bowles makes a valid and important point regarding the necessity to keep our “lollipop” patrols i.e. that we need a person to actually warn and stop children running into the road. Car drivers do at times incredibly ignore the red light.
Nursery workers could also lose their jobs as the use of school crossings actually manned by a “lollipop” worker is written into their workplace insurance cover. Parents need our lollipop patrols as an extra safeguard. There is a petition that can be signed at the North Road/Edlogan Way Post Office. We will add this to the ones already with Torfaen Council.
