I FELT I had to publicly thank the Volunteers of the Mon & Brec Canals Trust and the officers of Torfaen Council’s regeneration department for the tenacity and hard work that has resulted in the recent successful bid for £8m worth of funding.
We will now see the canal restored from Pontnewydd and into a new town centre location in Cwmbran. This is fantastic news for the town.
I also want to thank the public who have turned up in their hundreds at events over the past 14 years to support the canal.
We shared the dream, and it’s going to come true.
Well done and thank you all for your support.
