I’M SEEKING information about my maternal grandmother, Alberta Sarah Williams, born Marshfield, Jan 12, 1884, father Edmund, mother Anne.
Alberta married Sgt William Montague Loveridge on April 22, 1908, in Wynberg, Cape, South Africa. Her siblings were Edmund and Susannah. Alberta died in March 1911 in Steyning, Brighton, England, shortly after my mother, Dorothy Isabel Alberta, was born on February 12, 1911.
There must be family members still in the area who may have knowledge. For instance, was she the A S Williams who sailed for South Africa on the SS Gaiker, departing London on November 2, 1905. Why did she go to SA?
With fingers crossed.
