WITH regards to the letter by John Turner in today’s Argus, I would like to make a comment. The letter stated that the east of Cwmbran was apparently ‘well heeled’ and that the west of Cwmbran was apparently ‘socially disadvantaged’.
Well John, I think that you need to go back to Llantarnam School of which you are the Chairman and take a geography lesson. I think that generalisations such as this are purely inaccurate. There are parts of East Cwmbran in Llanyrafon and Croesyceiliog which have some social issues and not-so-well-heeled families. Also to suggest that west Cwmbran is socially disadvantaged is completely wrong. Would you class people in Henllys, Ty Canol and Coed-Eva as socially disadvantaged for example?
There are socially disadvantaged and well heeled people in many streets but please don’t generalise in order to make a point.
