I’M ALL in favour of a Newport edition of the Monopoly board game in principle, but can I suggest they make one or two small changes to the rules to better match the setting.
For example, instead of receiving £200, all players could be required to pay a fee (or ‘toll’) every time they pass the ‘Go’ square. This square could also be renamed ‘Severn Bridge’.
Chance and Community chest cards would also need to be twice the size, so that they could be printed in a dual language format. Perhaps the ‘Super Tax’ square could be renamed ‘Welsh Language Translation Tax’ Bryan Wilkes Penrhiw Terrace Newport
