GEORGE Osborne’s budget shows just how out of touch with reality the clowns of the coalition are.
1p off a pint of beer is derisory when you think that it was increased by 10p per pint recently. Increasing the ISA limit to £15,000 is worth virtually nothing as the interest rates are so low. It would be better to increase the base rate of the Bank of England.
Most of his measures will mean nothing to the majority of the population as they are obviously targeted at the richer end of the population and as a bribe to the blue rinse brigade of the Tories. Who plays bingo these days? Not even most pensioners that I know. They can’t afford it. The only good thing in this budget seems to be the freeze on petrol and diesel.
I am looking forward to seeing all these profligate pensioners blowing their retirement funds on sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, I suppose.
