I’M VERY unhappy at the quote used in your story ‘Bereaved Cwmbran man faces bedroom tax move’ (April 1).
A few weeks ago I gave your journalist a comment after he asked for my views on the one-year anniversary of the bedroom tax.
I was shocked to see it used out of context in a story about a tenant’s personal situation. If I had known it was being used in the context of this sensitive story I would have expressed Bron Afon’s sincere condolences to Mr Reeve for his sad loss and explained more about the advice we have given Mr Reeve to help him.
My staff are contacting Mr Reeve to make sure he understands how his circumstances affect his entitlement to benefit and to continue to offer him our expert support.
Ian Simpson Director of Community Housing and Support Bron Afon
