HOW MOVING to see everyone honouring the brave British and Allied troops and their dead comrades who stormed the beaches to free Europe from tyranny, and how sad to see what has become of the land fit for heroes they hoped to create.
A health service being sold to the highest bidder along with all our other national assets like power, railways, water, the post office.
The working man sold down the river by politicians of all parties with zero-hours contracts and hard-won union rights eliminated. Worst of all, a Europe run by unelected muppets like John Claude Juncker.
A parliament that up sticks every six months between Strasbourg and Brussels (at vast cost) that can't even balance its own budget and get its accounts signed off.
Would the heroes have been so keen to give their all for this? I wonder what all our magnificent veterans think of what has happened in the years since 1944. Not much, I suspect.
