I AM writing in defence of the NHS. I was taken ill on June 8 with breathing difficulties and became quite distressed.
My wife phoned for a doctor, but just got the press 1, press 2 service, so she rang for an ambulance which arrived within three minutes! The paramedic attended to me immediately.
Within three minutes, a second ambulance arrived to take me to Nevill Hall hospital where I received the very best of treatment.
They were brilliant and I’d like to express my sincere thanks to Mark, Paul, Ian (paramedics), Miss Smeeton (consultant), doctors, sisters, nurses, domestics, dinner ladies (Yvonne), chefs, cooks and all auxiliary staff.
A special thank you to the admin staff who help to make this hospital a hospital of excellence. The phone call to the doctor was the only black mark.
Perhaps Mr Cameron and his friends would like to pay a visit to Nevill Hall Hospital to see for themselves. I’m back home now making a good recovery thanks to NHS Wales.
