Can I, through your newspaper, thank every one who helped out with the recent Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan League of Friends fete held at the hospital in Ebbw Vale on Saturday 14th June.

Especially the legendary international singing star Ricky Valance, who gave up his valuable time to open the fete.

Also the County Borough Mayor, Mrs Janet Wademan Health Board Director and her husband for their attendance and support.

All the people who gave so generously to the fete, the members of staff who helped out on the day – especially Sue Pearce, Clare Walters, Sheila Jones, the members of the League of Friends, for all their hard work – and not forgetting the porters who were very kind.

Finally, to the many people who turned out to support our hospital League of Friends so that we can help the patients at this hospital be more comfortable.

Every penny raised is donated to the hospital for essential equipment and accessories which make the patients’ lives a little more bearable.
