IT BEGGARS belief that once again Newport council and in particular leisure services have taken it upon themselves to get rid of the only free outdoor pool/fun area situated in Tredegar Park. This water amusement area is very well attended during the summer months and gives vital respite to parents who cannot afford to go on holidays.
In addition it gives great pleasure to families of all ages the chance to relax in a secure environment who can spend the day with family and friends with a picnic enjoying what Newport has to offer (which for free is a rarity). Newport council, you let the paddling pools at Tredegar and Beechwood parks go to rack and ruin and promised something in return. You are now stating costs as the reasons behind this latest travesty, I say save the pool and get rid of some of the surplus councillors, everybody will benefit.
