COUNCILLOR John Cunningham states there is no need to worry if residents come into contact with areas being treated with weedkillers. So he has no problem with children playing on areas which have just been sprayed? One of the weedkillers used on our estate is Glyfos Dakar Pro (sprayed around trees, lampposts, street signs, etc), it’s product data sheet states: “Hazards: may be mildly irritating to the eyes.” “Ingestion: may cause irritation of the gastro-intestinal tract and the mouth with nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.”
Torfaen Council and Bron Afon CH should stop spraying our estates as a precautionary measure to protect the health of residents.
