MARTYN BUTLER (Argus, April 4) in response to Ukip’s Nigel Farage’s accurate comments about foreigners with HIV and the cost to our National Health Service, states that HIV does not discriminate. Oh, yes it does!
With the exception of those unfortunates who were infused with contaminated blood as part of their health care, the majority of males with HIV acquire the condition via their casual social life and promiscuous sexual practices, too sordid to mention in this newspaper. In short, it’s mainly self-inflicted.
Ukip member William Routley was perfectly correct to say that Nigel Farage was being honest about the whole scenario. All those holier than thou politicians who criticise Mr Farage would do well to remember that, first and foremost, ours is a National Health Service for British people, not an international health service for every foreign tourist who just happens to be visiting.
