WHILST making the most of the glorious weather we have had over the Easter holidays, I decided to take my four grandchildren to Tredegar Park for the day.
We arrived at 10 o’clock and the park soon filled up with families all enjoying the climbing frames and golf facilities.
Sadly we had to cut short our picnic and go home because the public toilets were locked up.
After a 10-minute wait on the phone to Newport Council, I was told that they are not opened until 2pm each day. Surely, if the council cannot afford to provide this necessary amenity, especially during school holidays, perhaps they could provide mobile toilets or even pay toilets.
