I THANK Councillor Gez Kirby for taking time to read my letter and the response, but unfortunately for him, we can all see Labour’s record in Newport.
I would also like to point out in response to the comments to my letter that other areas always vote Conservative, Liberal Democrat, etc. Places like Bath have had the same representative for years. The Bath electorate are just saving “yes please, more of the same” and as a showcase city, who can blame them?
Is this what we really want in Newport? We seem to reward failure. May I also point out that it was when Labour inhabited Westminster that Newport fell from being an average town in 1997 to a place where some questioned getting rid of the name of Newport for good.
A vote for Labour is a vote for more of the same – decline and abject failure.
