AS WE approach the general election, we see that the Tories have embarked on a spending spree of uncosted pledges ranging from the sale of housing association properties costing £20 billion, to an extra £8 billion a year for the NHS, costing £40 billion over a five year parliament and £10 billion a year in tax cuts.
An increasingly desperate and fiscally irresponsible Tory Party have so far made pledges worth an incredible £110 billion over a five year parliament without telling us where a single penny will come from. We are still waiting to find out where the axe will fall in relation to Cameron’s £12.5 billion benefit cuts.
Having failed to eliminate the deficit, while borrowing an incredible £500 billion more than the last government, Dave and co are spending money like a drunk on Friday night.
Cllr Nigel Dix, Blackwood
