UNDER the heading “The ill need help” from Your say page on April 20, I think Mr Banfield must have viewed a different programme to the one I watched because, in no shape or form, did Nigel Farage attack HIV sufferers from abroad with repugnant and distasteful comments.
I think Mr Banfield, like all the political leaders who were a part of that particular programme, is in denial or, for whatever reason, unwilling to acknowledge the point that Nigel Farage was making – that unfettered immigration is putting a huge extra burden on already over stretched NHS funding – fact.
In reality, Mr Banfield, as much as we would all love to treat the sick from around the world, and I am sure that there are many millions, we have to be realistic. We are a small island with limited resources. Try and get treatment in a Spanish, French or Italian hospital without some sort of insurance. Best of luck with that and no, I am not a UKIP voter, just someone who sees the bigger picture.
