WITH reference to to Mr Nutt’s nearly daily letters proclaiming to want an independent Wales, I am still unclear what Plaid Cymru want. In their first breath, they claim to want independence; in their second, moaning that the billions given to them by Westminster is not enough. A bit akin to a cheeky teenager wanting to move out of the family home claiming to want to be independent, but wanting his parents to pay the rent.
It seems Keith Parry from Cardiff (9th June 9) also wants to get in on the the act. A man who lives in the only city in Wales that has benefited from this devolution - £360 million money-wasting madness, but take away the vast amounts of grants and handouts the city has received from the EU etc and the removal of huge amounts of state workers paid for by Westminster; tax office, companies house etc and remember in an independent Wales, all these would be moved over the boarder. An independent Cardiff would end up like a large version of Newport and I would not wish that upon anyone.
C Bradley,
Newport
