THE Royal Welsh Comrades Association City of Newport branch would like to take this opportunity to thank the city’s mayor and mayoress, the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff and the many dignitaries as well as those from various veteran associations including the band and the 15 Standards who supported the 71st commemorative parade and service for the D Day landings of June 6, 1944, which took place on Saturday June 6 this year.
Thanks to the Rev David Neale, of St John’s Church, Maindee, who conducted the service this year, and a special thank-you to the fire service who once again provided the transport from the old railway station to the Baneswell Club.
Thank-you all for your support for this parade and service.
R E Newman,
Thompson Avenue,
Newport
