THE big event, the Velothon, is now over. Why are we not getting a more unbiased news report on the true feelings of all concerned including the amount of logged complaints (if you could get through to the organisers to log a complaint).
The economic revenue loss to businesses from Cardiff en-route to our pub in Hafodyrynys to Abergavenny to Superbikes at Queensway Industrial Estate, Newport.
Let’s have a list published of all the claims for compensation losses and let’s have an apology to all the visiting tourists who got caught up in the event, and the thousands of hardworking people and others who were denied their right to leisure on that Sunday; people who pay a tax to use our network of roads from which cyclists are exempt.
I support charitable rides and participate in charitable events myself, but would question the legality of this event. Cutting off a main artery of roads, restricting people’s movements, damaging our economy is unacceptable. Let’s have these events, but on feasibly studied routes. Feeling better!
